Our driver standards

Vetted. Trained. Prepared for any load.

Shippers trust Illyro because every driver on our trucks has been screened, trained, and held to the standards FMCSA requires, and then some.

  • Thoroughly vetted and screened

Every driver candidate goes through a full background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query, Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) report, and license verification before they are hired.

  • Intensive training programs

All drivers complete structured training in safety, load handling, customer interaction, and equipment operation. We do not put a driver behind the wheel of a customer's freight until they are fully prepared.

  • Modern, reliable equipment

Drivers work with a 2025 Freightliner M2 106 fleet. Nothing in the fleet is older than one year, so on-the-road reliability and uptime are baseline, not a gamble.

  • Family-owned operations

Illyro is family-owned and American-built. Ownership knows the drivers by name, the loads by lane, and the customers by phone. No anonymous dispatch desk.

How the process works

From application to first load

Five steps. Most candidates move from application to first dispatch in one to two weeks, depending on verification timelines.

  1. 01

    Apply

Submit the form on this page. We collect only the lightweight information needed to start a conversation.

  2. 02

    Initial call

Ownership reaches out within one business day. We talk about role, home base, experience, and fit. Both sides decide whether to move forward.

  3. 03

    Full driver application

For driver roles, you complete a full FMCSA-compliant application inside our secure hiring platform. CDL verification, MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse queries run automatically.

  4. 04

    Training

Approved drivers complete Illyro's intensive safety and load-handling training, scaled to your prior experience.

  5. 05

    First load

You take your first dispatch on a 2025 Freightliner M2 106. Ownership stays in the loop on every load.

License verification

Secure DL verification through our hiring platform

Driver license verification, MVR pulls, and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries are handled by our trucking-industry hiring platform. The same infrastructure used by carriers across the US to verify CDL credentials against state DMV records and FMCSA databases.

That keeps screening fast for legitimate applicants and tight for everyone else, without anything sensitive routed through a public website form.

FMCSA Part 391 compliant
  • CDL verification

License number, class, endorsements, and status checked against state DMV records.

  • MVR pull

Three-year motor vehicle record, with ongoing annual monitoring per FMCSA.

  • FMCSA Clearinghouse

Drug and alcohol violation queries per federal mandate, pre-hire and annually.

  • PSP report

FMCSA's 5-year crash and 3-year inspection history, straight from MCMIS.

Driver FAQ

Questions drivers ask before applying

What trucks do Illyro drivers operate?
Our fleet is 2025 Freightliner M2 106 units and newer. Nothing in the fleet is older than one year, so drivers work with modern, well-maintained equipment from day one.
What is the Illyro application process like?
Submit the form on this page. Ownership reaches out within one business day. If both sides are a fit, you complete a full FMCSA-compliant driver application through our hiring platform, which handles CDL verification, MVR, PSP, and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries. Where are Illyro driver home bases?
We dispatch out of Bolingbrook, Illinois (main hub), New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. You can specify a preferred home base on the application.
Does Illyro train new hires?
Yes. All drivers complete intensive training in safety, load handling, customer interaction, and equipment operation before they take a customer's freight. Training is scaled to your experience level.
